A: A remote backup is a backup that runs from a remote site (that is, it is not in the same facility where your website is hosted). So, if anything should happen to your hosting facility (fire, flood, terrorism), a copy of your website will be somewhere else.

Q: Why is tape backup a good choice?

A: Tape is the best medium for backup, because tape has been around the longest, which makes it the best understood. Computers have been writing magnetic tapes for over 50 years. No other medium, not even hard drives, have the history that tape does. For example, until recently, the CDs you burn on a computer were not considered "archival". This means that CDs you burned a year ago no one can guarantee that you can read them today. And lastly, once the tape is made and removed from the server, it is 100% safe from hackers, sabotage, and simple human error.

Q: Isn't my website backed up by my web hosting provider?

A: NO! None of the standard hosting plans with almost any hosting provider includes any kind of backup of your data!! The hosting provider is responsible for the hardware working, but if the server goes down, you are responsible for your data. A: The vast majority of the internet runs on UNIX or Linux web servers. Because of this, we have chosen to focus our resources on providing the best possible service to this section of the market. At present, we do not support web site backup of most Windows server configurations.

Q: What databases do you support?

A: We provide support for MySQL databases as standard. For other databases, we will provide you with a customized quotation for website backup services.

Q: Where are you located? Will my data remain in the USA?

A: Our offices and backup server facilities are in Auburn, near Seattle, WA. Your data will not, under any circumstances, be shared, exported, sold or in anyway compromised. It will remain in the USA at all times. No one, other than my own experienced local team, will ever have access to your tapes or website details.

Q: What happens to my data if I stop using your service?

A: If for any reason you stop using our web site backup service, all of your data will be completely and automatically removed from our systems when your account is closed. We guarantee the absolute confidentiality of your data at all times.
